I had a great time playing outdoors for the first time at the Laurel Summer Solstice Music Festival. I have discovered, however, the unfortunate interaction between polarized sunglasses and polarized LCD gameboy screens. Regardless, many thanks to Jon and John and Acme Music on MacArthur in Oakland for all their amazing work putting together such a great community event.
I’m excited to announce that denizens who populate the internet seem to want to talk about my work for some reason I am unable to fathom. As a result, there are a couple of exciting new opportunities for you to witness this phenomena.
First you can read this great interview with me by a fantastic music blogger who goes by the name Golden Mixtape. We discussed the history of my personal geekdom, and the future of geekdom to come. It is at this link: http://goldenmixtape.wordpress.com/2012/07/01/matthew-joseph-payne-cons-cosplay-and-comas/
In that interview, we mentioned an upcoming event – so very upcoming, that we have less than 24 hours as of this writing for it to come upon us. But fear not, for it comes in the form of an internet livestream performance and interview on twitch.tv, which you can view from the comfort of your own home, in any level of dress or position of comfort you might prefer.
Blake Morse of Week in Geek is hosting a monthly show featuring music based on, involving, or inspired by video games. Since my recent work definitely fits the bill, I’m happy to be playing tomorrow, Saturday July 7th, at 1pm pacific time. Although the show will be recorded and can be viewed at a later time, you would do well to see it live at www.twitch.tv/weekingeek
So that’s about it for now. I have a number of developing live events coming up soon, so watch this space.
